Matt & Kimberly | Lyndsey's Choice!

Okay y’all, we’re switching it up this blog.

Matt & Kimberly’s wedding day was, quite honestly, one of the smoothest wedding days we’ve ever encountered. Each wedding is so unique & special, but there was such an ease about their day and nothing went wrong. Like, nothing. I think that is owed to the intentionality and hospitality of Matt & Kimberly. I saw Matt sneaking over to the venue to help wherever he was needed & Kimberly had her eyes on every detail, while also allowing her mother & bridesmaids to set up the reception space however they saw fit. It was pleasing to sit back and watch their day come together with such intention yet ease!

So for this blog - we’re mixing it up! As a wedding photographer, I get to witness and capture EVERY moment unravel right before my eyes. Annnnnnd simultaneously snap my camera to save a memory for years and years to come! These portraits in this blog are a few of my personal favorite snaps from the Mullins Wedding with explanations as to why they are my very favorite. I pray you enjoy these moments as much as I adored them!

details details details

Kimberly had minimal details so I had so much sweet time to play around with textures and light. How fun are these shoes & jewelry?!

PEEP! Look at that something BLUE!

Megan, the wedding planner, made sure to tell me that their unity candle was actually from Kimberly’s parents & their wedding day! How special to have such a legacy marriage token incorporated in your own wedding?!

Okay, I could write a novel about much I loved Kimberly’s mom. She was supportive, helpful, excited, beautiful, and such a joy to work with as a photographer. If you’re a mother of the bride, take note from Joanie! She’s the best.

let’s all raise our glasses to Matt & Kimberly for being ready ON TIME for portraits yet not rushing moments!

and then there was Larry

His first look with Kimberly had me chuckling! He had such an over-the-top reaction and it was so fun to witness. Kimberly even yelled, “You looked like Papa!” It was hilarious and precious all wrapped up into one moment.

mom & maid of honor thought so too ;)

These guys froze outside during their individual portraits with Matt & never complained about it!

Y’all are the MVPS.

What stuck out to me about these bridesmaids was how much they smiled around Kimberly. Kimberly is an absolute sweetheart & her bridesmaids doted on her all day! It was so so sweet.

HELLO, QUEEN BRIDE

Meet Ryder. I don’t know if it’s the mom in me, but about a third of my raw files were Ryder-related.

Can you blame me?!

I’ll never get used to how bride & grooms gaze at each other.

It makes me fall more in love with my husband. It reminds me of why I chose him. It is absolutely rejuvenating to see other couples walk in the same commitment that we made 5 years ago. And I adore it.

Are we surprised that the couple portraits are my favorite portion of the day?! Probably not.

What you may not know is that I don’t have a list of poses I incorporate in every wedding. I allow each couple to set the tone for the couple's portraits and I WING IT! Not completely, but I pick up on their natural tendencies and embraces as a couple & allow my creativity to take over. It brings me so much joy to capture a bride & groom together on their wedding day because I get to document all of their emotions and love on the day they made the commitment for forever together. I love it. Like really love it.

What I do love about Matt & Kimberly? He literally tripped and dropped Kimberly, but she didn’t care. She laughed and enjoyed the moment while checking to see if I captured it. They’re so awesome.
